Four generations on the mountain
Xinglongju is a family tea estate in the high hills of Fengqing county, Yunnan, where the Shen family has grown and crafted tea for four generations. Our terraced gardens sit high on the mountainside, where cool nights and morning mist slow the leaf and concentrate its character. What began as a family table tea has become a direct trade, shipped from our mountain to teapots around the world.
How our tea is made
We harvest only first-flush leaves from our own gardens, picked by hand in the early morning and withered under the sun the same day. Craft techniques passed down the generations — including careful handwork over controlled heat — shape each batch, and nothing sits in a warehouse awaiting a buyer. From plucking to shipment takes weeks, not months, so you taste the season we tasted.
- Single-origin, first-flush loose-leaf tea from our own high-mountain gardens.
- Hand-picked and traditionally crafted by the Shen family's fourth generation.
- Direct shipping from the estate — fresh from the mountain to your teapot.
Why direct from the estate
Tea changes hands many times before it reaches most cups, and each step adds cost and delay while subtracting freshness. Selling direct lets us keep every lot traceable to its harvest, pay fair wages to the families who pick it, and ship the true taste of Yunnan high-mountain tea while the leaf still remembers the sun. Explore our harvests on this site and taste what four generations of care brews.
Every order ships directly from the estate in sealed, fresh-crop packaging with the harvest and garden printed on it, and our tea team answers questions about brewing, storage, and upcoming flushes in plain language. We offer seasonal subscriptions that follow the garden's year, from spring first-flush to autumn roast, so your pot keeps pace with our mountain.
