Sommeliers & Wholesale

Two doors into the estate — one for the cup in your hand, one for the cups on your counter.

A free 1‐on‐1 brewing consultation for our retail customers, and a wholesale program for the shops, restaurants and beverage directors who serve tea every day. Both begin with a conversation.

Choose your path

Which door is yours?

Most visitors fall into one of two groups. The split below routes you straight to the right intake — no menus, no phone trees.

For retail customers

A 1‐on‐1 brewing consultation

Included free with every order over $60. One of our three certified sommeliers spends thirty minutes on a video call with you — walking through water temperature, leaf-to-water ratios, steeping times, and the small adjustments that turn a good cup into the cup you've been chasing.

  • Thirty minutes, video or phone, in English or Mandarin
  • Written brewing card sent to your inbox afterward
  • Available with every order over $60 — no expiry
  • Optional follow-up note within fourteen days

Who you'll be speaking with

Three sommeliers on staff — and forty-one more we've trained across North America.

Our consultation desk is staffed by Li Mei (proprietor, fourth-generation), Wen Jun (head of quality, twelve years on the mountain), and Daniel Park (a former roaster who completed our certification in 2020 and joined the team in 2022). Since 2020 we have trained 41 American sommeliers through our free certification program, and Li Mei's sister served as the only Chinese judge at the 2022 Global Tea Cupping Championship. When you book a consultation, you are speaking with someone who has tasted every harvest from our garden, every year, for at least a decade.

We do not script these calls. Bring the water you actually use, the kettle you actually own, and the cup you actually drink from. We will meet you there.

Where the work lands

Four places this program quietly shows up.

A specialty coffee shop's tea menu beside an espresso bar at dawn.
01 A coffee shop's tea menu. A barista adds two single-origin Yunnan teas to the board without learning a new craft — our training session covers brew ratios for a La Marzocco workflow.
A restaurant's pu'er pairing flight with dessert on a linen table.
02 A restaurant's pu'er pairing. The sommelier pairs our 2018 sheng with a chocolate course and our 2022 shou with aged cheeses — we helped design the flight and trained the floor team on tasting language.
Corporate gifting boxes of loose-leaf tea stacked in a sunlit packing room.
03 A corporate gifting shipment. A beverage director orders 120 custom-branded boxes for a client's winter campaign; we hand-pack each one and ship on a four-day turnaround.
A home brewer's first gongfu session on a kitchen counter at morning.
04 A home brewer's first gongfu session. A new customer books a free consultation on a Saturday morning; the sommelier walks them through their first five steepings and emails the brewing card the same hour.

Practical questions

The things people ask before they reach out.

What is the minimum order for a wholesale account?

There is no fixed minimum. Most new wholesale accounts open with a $480 sample case covering all 11 varietals, then settle into a standing monthly order between $1,200 and $6,000. We work with neighborhood coffee shops ordering 4 kilograms a month and with hotel groups ordering 80 kilograms a month — the program is the same either way.

How long is a brewing consultation, and is it really free?

Thirty minutes, by video or phone, in English or Mandarin. It is included free with every retail order over $60 — there is no separate fee and no expiry. If your order has not yet shipped, we can attach the consultation to a future order. If you are not yet a customer, you are welcome to email us first and we will tell you honestly whether a consultation is the right next step, or whether a written brewing card would serve you better.

Can you ship samples before we commit to a wholesale account?

Yes. We ship a 200-gram sample pack of any three varietals for $48, refundable against your first wholesale order above $480. Serious hospitality inquiries (multi-location restaurant groups, hotel F&B programs) receive sample cases on account after a short introductory call. We do not ship unsolicited samples.

What are your lead times for recurring wholesale orders?

Standing orders ship within 14 days of your preferred cutoff date. U.S. customers see an average 6.8-day door-to-door transit across our last 2,400 orders, verified end-to-end. European and Canadian transit averages 9.4 days. All wholesale shipping is carbon-neutral through our verified partnership with Planet Air Logistics, and we send a harvest-day dispatch note with every shipment so you know exactly when the leaves left the mountain.
